I think your detail textures create a lot of noise in the concrete which looks a bit over the top. Other than that it looks pretty good. It's a little bit bland but works well as a kit part that you can add set dressing to to make it more intereting.

The night shot looks good but the grass looks like it isn't affected by the lighting at all. Also, could do with being thinner strands, it looks a bit weird tbh.

On an non-art related note, ,most of your screenshots are really dark on my monitor, are they supposed to be near black or...? Like the brick image you posted earlier, it's almost completely black for me :/

My screenshots look OK on my laptop and all the monitors at uni, so IDK.. :/ one of us has incorrect monitor settings :P I'll see what it looks like on some more computers around here.

WIP (Yeah, I just started using Dominant Lights):


I'll fiddle with the grass when I get back home. I've always had trouble with custom foliage.

New WIP (was working on this all night while my flatmates were out getting drunk):



Ignore the low-res terrain and placeholder materials.

A problem I encountered (apart from the mesh issue below) was that it (because of how I'd textured it) started to look like an old FPS like Hexen or something, will walls and floors made of tiling bricks n blocks. Hopefully I'll be able to get rid of this with some good hi-res grunge overlays, specular control and lighting

I am going to keep working on this, even though I realised that all my modular meshes were just slightly wrong, and as such allow an annoying amount of light leakage... I have to fiddle with my Max settings, but it shouldn't be a problem for my next environment.

Playing around with the lighting, trying to settle on a good focal point.


I'm going to make a few more brick materials in different styles and see if I can make it any better... less like a wall from Doom/Heretic/Hexen >.<
