Monkeys

Hey guys, figured I'd hop on the sketchbook bandwagon! I'll throw up as much stuff as I can frommy latest efforts. Unfortunately its not as much 3D stuff these days, been practicing 2D stuff so I can get into school in california. So yeah...this SB will mainly consist of my efforts in the 2D realm!

We'll see how this goes, hopefully there will be some sweet progress soon and then some insane concept art!

Anyway for the work...these are some studies I've done recently in an effort to get a handle on digital painting and painting in general.

Any crits or comments feel free to send my way, they're always welcome!!

So... are these digital paintings or real? Well, they look nice anyway. The tree branches in the last one are cool, kinda psychedelic Though otherways I prefer the more colourful ones better.

I love the bloke, I have seen the concepts you have done for 'Dead End' as well and they are sweet. I wanna get better at concepts and stuff myself and jus wondering how you went about learning what you know already?

Thanks guys!

Jimi - the only one that is actual paint up there is the one of the paint tube. The rest are all digital, I'll try to get some traditional paintings up later

JD- Thanks alot man Alot of what I've learned so far has really been from lots of trial and error. I've tried to pick up as much as possible from other 2D artists but it really has come down to doing as much drawing/painting as I can per day. I normally spend an average of 5-8 hours a day drawing. If you're trying to learn how to draw and concept stuff just keep at it no matter how frustrating it is, it'll click soon enough.

Panks I'll throw up some of those concepts once I hop on the other computer

For now here's some more studies I did over the weekend.
