These are coming along quite well. But, how do you set one off?

I like the poweder kegs and now how about a pyramid of cannon balls? For the Civil War cannon you could maybe also add a ramrod leaning on the x-member?

quick update, thanks for the suggestions advice and critiques, getting tot he ramrod next or re modeling the shaft of the land cannon. i'm just unhappy with the shape that it took and it wasn't intended but i rode with it.

i don't know what to think of these textures

Edit: Firefox crashed on me, any feedback on the testurejob would b appreciated i don't know if i like this or not i'm indifferent on it, part of me says it's fine part of me says it should be darker wood before i grunge it up

I'm not a an expert, but I've got a few suggestions. Maybe lighten the cannon's barrel texture. Can't really tell much other than that since it's so dark. The frame just doesn't work for me. It looks like it was carved out of marble or a soap or something. I think maybe you should make it look more like it's not built out of one piece. Right now it just looks like a carved toy. Maybe if I've got a little time I may make a paint over showing some ideas, if someone else doesn't do it before I do.

So it's not a great paint over, but I'm hoping it gets my idea across. Anyway I put some lines in where I think you could try to edit the texture. The lines are to indicate where maybe edges should be added to show that each level was made by adding a plank. Hmm anyway hope this helps.

I'd very much advise you watch this tutorial, Gephoria.

Your textures currently really lack in detail, as well as any relevant or realistic feel. This is most noticeable on the cannon. Currently it seems like you just threw a wood texture over the UV. Its not a bad model, but the texturing is drastically letting down the model.

small update changed the texture on the main base, re-optimized it (chamfer can really screw things up sometimes) added details to the wheels ( i think i'll leave wheels alone now except maybe adding a color variation to them all on different cannons) other than that my ideas for when i'm bored will be to probably make a pirate ship around the artillery designed below.

i'm getting sucked into gameartisans.org competitions they have some fun stuff over there still loyal to Game-artist.net more though
