You seem have at least two unnecessary segs running the whole way around the rutter (in the center).
![]() There is no need for the center line segs as they aren't doing anything for the model other then adding unnecessary polies. ![]() To be honest you could optimize the rutter down a lot whilst still keeping good form. I have to go out... so I can't elaborate on this now.

Ha, yeah! I made that rudder out of a cube with lots of polys.. I haven't got into the habit of making something low poly and then subdividing to make it more detailed.. I can definitely see how it's going to help though.
I didn't like that rudder anyway, so I tried a couple of alternatives ending up with this one: ![]() I've attached a couple of alternatives made from curves to mesh.. They didn't look quite right.. |
