Unmanned Drone

We are pleased to announce our new tournament, sponsored by the leading interactive 3D model viewer...









General Guidelines:
  • You must be a registered member of Game-Artist and Sketchfab in order to participate in the official tournament. You will need to upload your entry to Sketchfab, then embed your entry in our submission page to be eligible for voting.
  • You have 2 MONTHS to finish your entry. The deadline will not be extended.
  • All models and textures must be made from scratch. You may use existing concepts.
  • WIP (work in progress) is allowed in this sub-forum. Feel free to create a thread to post your progress in.
  • No Teams, groups or collaborations. Everything must be made by 1 single person.
  • Only one entry per artist. You may edit your final submission until the deadline.
  • Feel free to share reference links and other resources with your fellow artists.
  • All presentation images must not exceed 1600px x 1600px
  • Tutorial for using Sketchfab with 3DS Max can be found HERE - Tutorial for using Sketchfab with Blender HERE
  • Official Sketchfab exporter plugins for 3D packages found HERE
Asset Guidelines:
  • Triangle Limit - 30,000 Triangles
  • Texture Limit - 2048 x 2048 Max
  • Filesize Limit - 50mb per file (for Sketchfab Free)
  • Types of maps - Anything and everything you need
  • No Teams, groups or collaborations - Each entry must be completed by 1 single person
  • All presentation images must not exceed 1600px x 1600px
  • Ground planes, pedestals, environments are optional and will only apply to the filesize limit
  • Use the tag "UnmannedDrone" when uploading to Sketchfab so all entries will be searchable together

These comps are not just about fame and glory.
They're also about progressing as an artist while networking in a friendly competitive setting.

Wow, this sounds awesome. Hopefully I found some time around Christmas to participate!

One question: Texture limit is 2048, so we mustn't create more than one material? Or am I supposed to create e.g. 2 normal/color/spec maps 2048 Px?
I guess not, but I just want to be sure

Your total texture resolution needs to be 2048x2048 for each map (diffuse, normal, specular, etc). You may break your materials up however you want (eg: 2 x 1024x1024), but each map may not exceed 2k.

The deadline is nearly here! Be sure to test your assets in Sketchfab before to leave yourself some time for the that part of the presentation. Also, be sure to look over the guidelines again before posting your entry in order to make sure your entry follows our tournament's rules.

The deadline is here, and it appears we still don't have all of our submissions. Since PigJazz is the only finished entry as of now, we'll allow until the end of January 21st for our other participants to wrap up and get submitted.
