freelance work ?

i want to get some information on freelance as i am working long as texture artist but don't have any idea on freelancing like what i need of get a freelancing work and from where i will get it.. i have seen many experience people here so i thought its the best place to get my answers.

from my own experience of freelancing for a year, there is no secret place to go when you want freelance work

everyone I know who works/has worked freelance was contacted through posting personal work on forums. I would sort out a portfolio and start promoting yourself on forums. Seems to be the best way to go about getting paid work
