undergraduate looking for advice (INTERN)

Hello im currently doing a degree in 3d computer animation & digital art. I have just finished my 3rd year and will be returning to do my honours after the summer.

I am looking into the the game modding side of things over the summer just to improve my modeling, texturing and animation skills but ideally I was looking for advice on finding intern work. I not bothered about pay really just would love the oppertunity to learn off the pro's.

Could anyone give me some good advice on how someone would get such a position as I have no idea and my uni has never given us any advice about this kind of stuff.
