Is it actually a scene from a real movie, or can it be a personal creation that is set up like a movie?

Does the competition call for animation, since it's Scene from a Movie?

Ohhhh I am so excited!

Perhaps a silly question but does the term movie encapsulate animated movies, either 3d or traditional?

cheers.

Is it to be set up like a Movie scene( ie, only worry about what the camera sees or would it be more like game cinematic where there is more of an interactive camera?)

Also, polycount restrictions? Or is this entirely up to whatever engine we choose to build for(ie Unreal, Cryengine...)

Thanks for your time!

Sincerely,
Ben

Yea, just now got the to see the Events change update.

Is there any restrictions on effects? Not photoshopped after effects, but explosions and shit?

can someone explain to me what a "moodboard" is? I think I understand but I want to be certain. Also, I assume animated movies count?

The most fundamental part of this comeptition is that you need to be taking reference from an existing movie. You can recreate a screenshot of it identically, or you can take style cues from the movie to make a scene that would fit perfectly in it

You can have animation in your scene, but we only require that you submit 2 images of screengrabs.

We're looking for live-action films only. Obviously most action scenes contain 3D effects, etc, but the main stock of the film has to be your everyday live-action

You can set your scene up however you want, as long as it looks solid and substantial in both of the angles you post up as your final submissions.

Tri-counts can be found on the competition site, here.

A moodboard is a collection of references for your project. In this specific case, it'd be an image containing references and screengrabs from your movie

As explained in more detail above, only predominantly live-action films are allowed.

Cheers guys

"submit a link to a moodboard "
just to clarify,we submit a link & not post the images in the wip thread?..is that for copyright reasons?

google fails yeO_o

A mood board is a type of poster design that may consist of images, text, and samples of objects in a composition of the choice of the mood board creator. Designers and others use mood boards to develop their design concepts and to communicate to other members of the design team. wikipedia
