SFAM - Meat Pies

Hey Everybody, finally chose an environment after a couple days of going through my movies. Going to do the main set from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Not sure yet if I will do just the upstairs, downstairs or try to do both. Going to block the entire building in inside and out, and go from there. Here are a couple moodboards for both floors.

Rough Block-in

Decided to try something new for the rough block-in process. I'm too detail oriented for my own good, and wanted to be as accurate as possible. I wanted to leave my options open as to which room i do, or be able to add on to the scene after the contest.

I spent a little while today playing with Autodesk's Image Modeler. Got some really good results that lined up really well in maya.

Now I can't decide if I want to do the outside or an inside room!

Image Modeler screens:

Slightly adjusted OBJs imported back into maya: (doesn't look like much, but it fills me with lots of confidence for a speedy modeling session!)

That's looking pretty accurate
If you wanna stay ahead of competition I'd recommend doing inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs

I was thinking about that, but I'm leaning toward not trying to do the whole thing. It might be a smaller environment than some, but i will be doing the FX shader work myself, and creating custom lightmaps from high poly models. I want to focus on texture detail, accurate lighting and surface properties. I'm afraid that trying to do the entire set might stretch my time and the texture budget a little too thin... want to really focus on polish quality, and keep building out more as time allows. I dunno.

you are correct

Sover is doing the attic scene
Postezz is doing the attic scene as well
Westmeadow is doing fleet street
highbread3d doing exterior

wait... correction, just found another one.... Paranoidmonkey is doing the barber shop from Sweeny as well, so make that 5 submissions. Sweeny Todd is the most chosen out of this comp so far

Created the final block-in of the exterior and interior surfaces using the Image Modeler geometry as reference. Pretty happy with the scale and most of the proportions. Geometry is a little rough but will get replaced with the final low poly models of the different parts of the building.

Little more modeling tonight. Still don't know what room(s) I will do as the final entry, might try to model it all anyway.
