I'll correct that a bit:

Red Channel: 0 to 255 = Left to Right.
Green Channel: 0 to 255 = Up to Down.

I don't remember Ogre having any sort of assembling editor. I might be wrong but don't you need a coder to put things together??

Satan: not sure. My partner Sean was looking into it for our project and he was running into issues with it. Guess that's what happens with open source stuff

Maybe a bit late, but you can completly remove water in crysis, just clic on remove water and set the water level to -1.
