looks decent even without textures. Nice work.

Thanks for the very positive comments guys!

Here's a very quick High Poly attempt for the APC, I still wanna add a few more details but I'm gonna call it a day.

Looking good, few pinches here and there but it's a decent result. The edges on the side of the APC are perhaps a bit too soft.
Few details on the top of the body to accent the diffuse details that'll be there could help, too.

Should make a fine normal map.

Completed modeling the Hadley's Hope building, working on texturing at the moment. Only had a few references to work from, so added a little imagination to fill in the blanks. There's a few spots where I need to generate some normal maps, in particular the lower portion. Current model is 3600 polys. Getting it into Crysis was easier than I thought

On to texturing the beast!

Yeah, importing geometry to CryEngine2 is so easy, you don't even need to have unwrapped models, you just need to click export .CGF and import it into the engine!

I've been keeping in touch with Jan Rukr, a Aliens fan boy and founder of the well known website Aliens Papercraft.

He's work has been really useful for me, I've been taking a lot of inspiration and reference, like this picture:

Basically, Gizm0san modeled the yellow building on that blueprint.

But dude, don't forget you also need to make that small ramp, and I'll prolly get to build that small yellow vehicle on top of the ramp.
this one:

This weekend I've been busy making the UVW's of the APC, and trying to baking the normal maps, I've been having some problems though.
Anyways, I'll post some progresses as soon as I have something worth showing!

Keep up dude.

PS. (You forgot to tick, "Cast shadows" on your prop tho. :P)

Hi there! I like the Alien movies a lot, I was hesitating if I'd rather take the Blade Runnder, but as I just saw a very impressive scene I chose only some weeks ago; I decided on Alien by Ridley Scott. I am looking forward to see what other people are making out of this competition. Good luck!
