Looks nice but the angle is steeper in the reference.

Agreed with master glynn here.

Would make a good start for a mod, and crysis is perfect for it. Lol, you can even make the predator with cloak.

on the subject of mods, Left for dead would be great for a Aliens colony campaign, even if there arent any aliens.

I'm sure if [HP] has it running in the crysis engine, we may release it as a walk around level, time permitting. He would know more since I'm not familiar with the engine tools. I grabbed a few reference images from Google for the pulse rifle, looking for tutorials to replace the default gun

The modeling of the gun would be last, since its not really important to the competition, more of a "wouldn't it be awesome if" want.

Thank you all very much for the positive feedback! it's giving us even more motivation...
I really like the idea of making a mod out of it, who knows? I might think about it when we finish this. But first things, first!

divi, thanks for the alpha maps suggestion, I might consider it if I ever bump with poly count budget problems.

uk_resistant, i made that piece in a way that I can rotate it freely. I can even lay it down, by just rotating the main piece. So the angle is pretty relative.

I'm about to go to bed, but before I go, I'll drop a screenshot of what I started working today.
It's one of the most symbolic pieces of this movie, and I couldn't resist and started working on it right away, eh eh! It's the APC (Armored Personnel Carrier)

Here's a very very WIP screenshot of Max viewport:
