I will just ask my question again, because I think it's pretty important. Can you add the rule on the rule page that characters are NOT allowed? This will prevent mistakes. Not everybody is watching this forum, and nothing in the rules say that characters are not allowed.

Thanks

I'm sure I replied to this?

I've sent a list of amendments over there. It'll be updated as soon as, and I'll mention it here when it is.

Actually, you didn't You told us you could use characters in your scene, but that would be a waste of time because the judges wouldnt look at them. But I still cant find this rule in the official rules. So my question is: Can you add them there?

I'm not sure how to make this clearer for you. The rules will be updated when the guys in Aus get onto it. The rule change is in motion. Relax.

I know I haven't said any characters can be used. I was the one that suggested they be outright disallowed.

From the first page in this thread:

If you're really stuck on what you can and can't use in a specific scene, post your reference, ask here and we'll figure it out

Beating a dead horse...

I'm sorry if you begin to pull hair out glynnsmith, Craig Lewis, Tiros, Talon... To name a few... but I've read through this entire thread and tried to decide on my own, but I'm honestly not sure... So I thought I might as well ask. (I'm thinking NO!)

I understand this.

ContrivanCe Asked:

So do the statues in this scene count as "organic characters"?
Which don't stand as characters... I chose to model a murder scene from the movie se7en, which has an obese corpse sitting in the middle of the kitchen, face first in his spaghetti sauce. Like so:

Allowed? I see it as a lifeless (statuesque) addition to the environment If not I'll think of a new scene, thanks for your time.

I think we can allow this, yes. Other people are doing limbs and gibs, statues are allowed. I think that if it's more part of the scene, rather than ACTING in a scene, you're fine.

This is actually a really cool idea for a scene. I hope you get the refridgerator in there, with the markings behind it, too

Thanks!

Awesome, thanks a lot. That's exactly what I was thinking... Well with that, I'll shut up and get to work.

Yeah, totally. I think the key to a good environment is treating it like a character. It's amazing how much of a story can be put into just a small scene like this. Look at the safe rooms in L4D - They perfectly back up and support the overarching story of each campaign

Anyways. We should both shut up and get back to work Good luck!

Man... Didn't want to waste more space on this thread, but had to mention that I just got off from playing a few rounds of l4d with some friends... always appreciate that games level design.

Good luck to you as well.
