Portolio 2.0

Figured I'd also do one of these threads again and see if I could get a little feedback on the portfolio. As the title says, I call this one "2.0" but it's actually "76.0" more like it.

And, the link: Adam Fransson - Environment Game Artist

Your site and art work is great, very easy to navigate ( since it's basically only one page ). The only suggestion I have to to include some of your texture maps on the props you have modeled out.

Thanks man, I have a feeling people dont see the links in the menu though

As there's one 2D Page, tutorials page cv and so on. I've gotten some advice about that too, from Glynn. But I'm having a lot of problems bringing them out more while still maintaining the same feel and style on the page itself.

As for adding maps, Hmm, I were thinking the same thing, and will add some maps once I get further with this thing, as it's still a wip.

Love the scrolling

There's some issues in Opera at 1280x1024, the little tabs at the top right are overlapped by the images and in the folio pieces themselves, some of the text gets shunted off the left hand side of the page. There's a fair bit of horizontal scrolling required to read bits of text, too (horizontal scrolling = no-no).

And where are the wireframes and texture flats?!

Thanks for the feedback guys. It seems I'll have to fix those links.. Well, gonna see if I can think of a solution for it.

Hmm, about the tabs, if you're refering to the very top right corner one, then that's not a problem as I'll remove it once the page is done, just saying "the page is under construction bla bla"

And as for the text, could you send me a screen of it? I've had a look in school and made sure it fit in well on a 1280x1024 screen, never checked in opera though. Did now on my big screen however and there it seems to be alright.

Oh, and flats + wirez coming up, havn't gotten so far yet!

It just about works when I have my sidebar turned off, but I'm not sure why that should affect the positioning so much (it should just resize the page and the page should adapt). Looks like there might be fixed width stuff happening with right alignment, which you tend to want to avoid. Pages built for larger resolutions should be able to collapse back down to fit on smaller resolutions.

Oh, and one thing I might recommend is that rather than adding "back" at the top of the pages, you have a "home" button and a row of small thumbnails of each piece links, so people can jump through it all at once (rather than click, look, back, click, look, back, etc...).

Thanks for the feedback there Talon. I updated it a bit here, but there's still some things left to do I guess. I havn't sorted out that text issue yet, and the links on the actual pages needs some rethinking.. as they look identical to the ordinary text.
