This is looking good, but be sure to have some room to show wires and used maps and such.

Looking good dude, though I have some small crits and suggestions.

First of all, there's nothing I hate more than white spaces that slowly progress to become a background image while loading a portfolio. So, please, don't use large tileable images for background.. rather, use small like 10x10px tiles, and skip the small variations.

For example, you could create these forms with the help of CSS, using one small tilable background for the right column, and add a border to it using the css code. Same goes for the rest

And for those rounded corners, there you'll have to add images for the corners in order for it to work, but the rest could be done the same way as specified before.

Second thing I had in mind is, are you never going to show more than 8 pieces of work at a time in your portfolio? Cutting it off like that wouldn't be a very good idea imo. And if you increase the length of the right column to fit in more images, you would have to scroll back up to see the larger image, or it would automatically go up as a new page loads.. which are both kinda annoying

So, even though it might be annoying, increasing the lenght of the page is prolly the best option in the case.

Finally, if I were you I'd prolly get rid of the banner, it takes up quite a lot of space and is more or less useless if your webpage has a good title to support it.

But, if you really want a banner, I'd go for something more like this to get the design flowing better:
(Note: Your colour theme is very good as is, this is just to show layout)

Yet personally, I would've liked this one better:

Keep in mind though, I'm not a webdesigner! So take this with a grain of salt.. but this is the way I would've gone around it if I were you

Oh, and remember to always save copies of your layouts and designs, you might want to go back to one later if you find working on something new only made it worse.

Cheers!

I dont think that the menu is vertical aligned with the box.
Give your contactinformation some whitespace so it doesnt touches the borders of the box.
The click tumbnails for ... is readable enough. Give it some whitespace on the top and bottom.

It's looking good actually.

But your contact info seems to be overlapping with those white vertical lines on the side. And I personally would stay with your last design, it's similar to what I have.

As for css, I learned it myself before I made my site. It's really not that hard. What I did was find a template, learn what the code was doing, and modified it on my own.

Try this site for css templates: Free Website Templates & Wordpress Themes | Arcsin Web Templates

Good luck.
