SuperSlonik's Portfolio

Good afternoon, everyone.

I just finished working on my new web-page, although there are couple minor tweaks need to be done. Portfolio, however, is displayed on the front page.

The site's nice and simple, although I'm really starting to get fed up with seeing lightbox everywhere.

It might be an idea to stick your resume on the html page.

Also, putting your email address on each page isn't a bad idea, either.

The content sort of lets itself down.

You seem to render all of your pieces, which flat out kills the normal maps and such. Screengrabs of your viewport or putting it in a game engine is a better way to go to show off the models, usually.

Your normal maps are very, very obviously just your diffuse texture thrown through crazybump, which is a really bad way to make them and doesn't show you understand normal maps at all. You also lack any specular (and gloss) maps to help give a bit of life to the scene.

Put the same information on all of your images. I notice that only one of each set has tri-count on, but not everyone is going to look at all of the images and it's probably a good idea to put it on all of them, just so people know what they're looking at. Same with either a contact email or a web address - a name alone probably isn't quite enough and you never know where one of your images will end up :P

New Westminster, BC - Looking at this i assume british columbia but it may clarify it out if you put country in here
when i click on your pictures you have the fancy pants flash or java method that blizzard uses and i envy that. Yours however appear to be loading off to the right of my screen i can't see the entire picture.
I agree on the statement that your normal maps look like they could use some spiffying up, and also i have to agree with the top post that your work works against itself, on your front page i see one render of two towers, that appear to be almost identical if not exactly the same, and next to that thumbnail is a wire render of the same tower, my suggestion is render them and use the same pic. Hope this info helps you have fun with life.
