Well, some people will hate you for it, using flash on your portfolio

Personally, I don't think it's such a big deal.. thing is though.. there's most likely going to be a lot of people dropping out during the loading time.

Also, the first thing that I noticed, being something that made me want to leave the site right away, the animated logo.. sorry mate, but I can't stand it, really

I'd advice you to remove the blinking animation and go for a still image. And on a minor sidenote, the background colour of the gif doesn't match the background colour of the page. It might do on your comp, but the colour profile varies between different users. Just thought I'd mention

Cheers!

Its not too bad.... a good start I would say.

The "resume" section and the contact section I would really combine. I guess when I think of a resume its not JUST the programs you know/school you've attended...what about some background on your work experience?

And like Tiros said....waiting, even 30 seconds, for your 3d works to load, isnt a long time at all..buut most people want that stuff first and foremost. I would think that since you only have 3d pieces to show off (at this time) have that stuff be on your front page to catch possible employer's attention ASAP.

OH...one other thing i just noticed....change the name of the page (the part that is displayed in the "title bar" of what ever internet browser you use) to say something like "so and so's page" instead of index.gif :-)

Its a decent start though...just finish it up a bit and you should be good to go!

Good Luck.

good stuff i thankyou both!!...i'm gonna get right to work on that, i want to place texture maps aswell as other models that i have done, so i may make a texture maps section...
so yeah i'll just switch it up and place the 3D models on the front page and go from there....keep the suggestion coming guys!

i have a question, does anyone know a program, html code, flash, etc, that i can incorporate into my website that will allow me to show my 3D models in a 360 degree manner on my website? allowing the visitor to rotate the models in realtime ...i remember seeing something like that awhile back, just can't remember the site i found it on.

theres a lot of little plugins like that but I think they all require the user to have them installed on their machine. If you want spinning models I would use a small gif but to be honest anything like that is just going to add loading time onto your site which is already criminally slow

I would take a look at your stats for your site and see how many people only stay for under 30seconds, I bet its a huge number because of the loading times. Even when you get to the work about 80% of the screen is unused and you are viewing your stuff through a little box

I like your work, especailly the barbershop environment, but I think you are over complicating it - just stick it right in peoples faces

i agree with ben. some good work but it takes sooooo long to load and it really isnt worth it, the flash interface is more annoying than anything. And those 3d model plugins are always a bad idea, because people have to download little addons in order to even see your work. Whenever someone posts one of those i dont bother to download it.
