www.ibrahimwahab.com

Here's my website, just updated it today (3:30am), been having some annoying technical issues with it (blast my lack of html knowledge).. anyhoo, the site appears to be working, but if anyone comes across any problems, then please let me know. Right now I'm off to smash my face against dreamweaver for being such an ass... oh but how can i get mad at dreamweaver, with its puppy dog eyes... ok i really think i need to get some sleep now!

Ibrahim Wahab - 3D Artist

Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing what you guys think abou the site

Nice clean design mate!
But this wouldn't really be a decent comment if that was all I had to say.

Some things I'd think about:
At the moment, the page is only as tall as it needs to be. Even if the extra space is just blank, I think it'd really balance the overall design of the page.

On workflow/navigation, I highly recommend you read Jon Jones' "Your portfolio repels jobs". Your current navigation sends me to news, which is all well and good, if I'm visiting your site for news.
More often than not though, people don't care about what changes you've made to the website before they see your work. I fell into this same trap of having a nice news section with an overview of my life, changes in work and all that Jazz. The reality is: This information is fine, but throw your work at them first man! Its what the site's about in the first place!

Also, why is your 3d art separated from your game art? Does it need to be?
Consider how many clicks it takes for a person who has no idea who you are, to find out who you are.

In a nutshell: I recommend you read Jon Jones' articles and 'flatten' your site. Your work is high level.

Thanks for the link to the article there mate...

I was thinking there was too many clicking going on in the gallery section, I did have in mind to remove the seperate categories section.

The reason why I wanted to split my 3D Art from Game was so I could have a seperate section for High poly work seperate from the game related work.

Anyway.. i think I know where to go with this ---- SIMPLIFY!!

I love your site!

I would suggest (already been said but I wanted to give some feedback too :P )

Make your game art page your first page, if people want news they can click on the news button, but they probably want to see your work (as I said, already mentioned).

Good luck!

Yea, as said already. Some very neat work on there!

But you might want to put your artwork on the index page.. or some people might just ditch it the second they see it.

And damn.. I always fall for the FCUK thing ^^

Cheers

The PDF resume is a great addition (I'm going through a phase of prefering PDF's over Doc's).

Fewer pages are good, keeping it simple is important

Another thing I thought of, can you add a button that would take you back to the home page, behind your name in the top left corner, or even for the entire banner, I might be the only one that clicks headers and is disappointed when it doesnt take me back to the home page :P

Dude, MUCH better. Its clean and all there. For that last bit of frosting, you might want to have your contact information and CV on screen at all times. I was thinking in that menu bar area, so people don't actually have to visit the Resume page if they're quickly grabbing your CV for a co-worker or whatever

Mockup:

I don't know how having two 'resume' pieces on the menu sits with anyone. I get the feeling that it's fine as long as its clear that the resume button to the right is a new page, and the links to the left go directly to files.

That's a very good idea! It's also a good way to take up some of that dead space. Thanks for the comments all
