way too dark. Website and image
Think not everyone set their monitor luminosity the same.
Watch out for alignment of image. having the back button movin X pixel doesnt show a great sens of attention of detail
For the texture try to add an image of the texture apply on its 3d objet. it help visualise the work.

Flash (shockwave) pages, especially this one, are really bad for portfolios.
  • It requires a plug-in to view your site. Not every employer has this install and some companies lock installing programs for security reasons. Potentially you'll be completely overlooked because of this.
  • It embeds your images disallowing employers from saving your for review.
  • Your resume is embedded! Thus, nothing can be copied out for review, email can't be clicked for contact.
  • It breaks the Back button (which is all over the place), making browsing your work annoying.
  • When the screen is maximized, there's an odd white border
  • Do away with this site, and replace it with a simple HTML page.

Portfolio
The first two images in your portfolio (the arms thing and light?) are very awkward, and it's difficult to understand what they are. Even in the UT environment, the presentation is difficult to understand.

It seems you have five separate pieces that are presented in three different UT screen shots. The downside side here is, each prop isn't strong enough on it's own as a portfolio piece, but in UT, they are just sitting in box rooms. While this shows a knowledge of Unreal Engine, it so basic that just putting all the props together in an empty scene might be better.

The scene with the engine(?) appears that everything but the engine (centerpiece) is textured.

I like the temple in the lower left corner and the facade in the upper right.

I see you have the Warhammer Online art test in your portfolio. While I'm not sure the status of this one, I'd only put an art test in my portfolio if I passed.

Resume
Listing Pizza Hut, Airport Screener, and Navy in your resume doesn't really help with a 3d Artist position since it's not relevant.

I agree with everything Chris said. One small thing is that, in the titlebar, it says 'WEBSITE' everywhere. You should change that to something like 'David Bailey - 3D Environment Artist.' It's a small thing, but it's just that extra little bit of polish.

thank you all for the comments

I used flash because thats the only program that i know how to use to set up a website. I will definitely learn another way to build one that is easier to use. The arm thing is a laser, I just used some references and tried to change it up but apparently if it seems confusing then I didn't design it right. I worked on the Mythic Art test non stop, they didnt like my texturing but said the modeling was good. I put it in the portfolio because people have different taste, just because one company didn't like it doesnt mean another wont. Im just not sure how legal it is to have it there?

If anyone knows of any good sites to learn how to use HTML to make a basic website then hit me up with it.

Once again thanks for the help.
