Layout

Over the last couple of weeks i have working on a new layout for my portfolio and have used the article by john jones to come up with a simple and clean design. but right now i have hit the spot where i am not sure if i should continue to refine it or leave it as it is now and start building it.

So, i would to ask you all for some comments about the overall layout and design.

I like it alot! The colors are cool and the layout is great. It's as simple as possible (easy navigation) and still stylish. I'd add a simple 2D / 3D note to the icons you've used to seperate your work. The image borders could be a changed a little, maybe thinner or with a darker color tone.

Agreed, it's simple / smooth, yet the images stand out well. Agree with zortech's comments though.

I think it looks great but the background color seems too repedative you need another color there... it can even be the same hue just change the intinsity or brightnessplay around with it till you find one you like once you get that the border will look fine

HI everyone,

i am still working on the design and have made some changes since the last picture. Right now i am concentrating on the portfolio pieces themselves instead of the index pages, trying to find the best way to display my work with all the information that is needed in a portfolio.

Looking forward to your comments,

Hey everyone,

If you do not mind, i would like ask you all for a bit of help.

today i have been working on my portfolio website and i finally have something that looks good on my pc, but i would like to know how it looks on other pc's and monitors. That way i will know if there are any problems with the design that my computer isn't showing.

So if you would, please check the design here: http://www.swartsz.com/portfolio/index.html

and if you see any problems, please report them here so i can fix them before i complete the whole thing.

thank you!

Works fine for me in IE at 1280x1024

One thing; pull your graphics up and remove the wasted space so that it can all fit on the screen without a scrollbar in the browser window. This is a small nick-pick, but it’ll make your site look nicer.

nice translation from concept to a working site! I agree with Chris about the scroll bar, I still get it with firefox. As you use images for your navigation bar (portfolio, about, contact) you should use a lower compression rate to get a better quality.

Keep it up!
