I like it. it's nice and clean. You need a lot more stuff their though
but you already said that. I would merge the 3d Art and Game-Artist.net Competitions in one section and you can add on the image that is was done for a competition.I usually don't like the combination between a blog and a portfolio... but it's becoming more and more popular... so.. maybe I'm missing something ![]()

I like it, have some suggestions though.
I think you should highlight your galleries in some way. They are bit lost and not eyecatchy enough in the menu. Also, why not start with gallery straight on the homepage and leave to other stuff to someone who wants to dive in deeper? I don't like the graffiti header. It's not related to cg or game art in any way. EDIT: I see your page is called pixelgraffiti. So why that name doesnt stand anywhere in the header? that's also not so good IMO Last edited by StefanH; 05-29-2007 at 04:36 PM. |

What I personally plan on doing to my (also WordPress) blog is to incorporate Lightbox into it. There are plugins to make it work with Wordpress, which is an awesome way to show screenshots. Instead of loading them into your page, you get an AJAX element on top of it with some transparency in which you see the image. Very nifty and saves you from people having to hit the back button on every image.
Take a look on andreis portfolio to see it in action (wait for the entire site to load): http://www.andrei313.com And for the actual WP plugin: http://zeo.unic.net.my/notes/lightbox2-for-wordpress/ |

I honestly don't know why people write these blogs (not directed at just you here btw!), I can't imagine anyone other than your parents wanting to read it. Keep a diary or write your parents an email.
Even though it was one of the top links, I found it stupidly hard to actually see an obvious link to artwork. Once I was there it looked fine, but lacked wires and any kind of tech details or information about what they were for. The images also should ALL have your email address on them (if you're one day hoping for some work out of them, that is) to make you easy to find. Search this site for the post : Your Portfolio Repels Jobs. The guy who wrote that would KILL you ![]() EDIT: ok i just noticed that you mention it isnt a portfolio site so /ignore me Last edited by petrol; 05-30-2007 at 06:35 AM. |

I'm turning it into an art blog, so it will be eventually just have WIP shots and what not going up. As for the lightbox thing my art director HATES that. If he can't get to an image in a few seconds he's done looking. But yeah my site isn't really a portfolio as it is just a place to show of some art and show my WIP to friends who aren't really into forums and what not.
Yeah i have another domain, so when i need to make a portfolio i will. As of right now i don't need one so it's just a personal gallery and workshop type site. |
