My New Portfolio

Hey, let's admit it, my last portfolio sucked.
It wasn't that much of a great design and the code.. well. We shouldn't talk about the code.

I created a new portfolio.
It's heavily WIP and I want to hear some critics about it.

http://www.ron-froelich.de/webpage/

Links lead nowhere, because I didn't upload the other pages.
I want to know, if the background is too dark and what font/color you advise me to choose.

Of course you can also tell me that the design in general sucks..

its a bit hard to say whether the site works as a portfolio until you get some work up there

In general the design looks clean and I like the metalic parts at the top. the text reads fine on my expensive monitor but isnt so clear on my crappy monitor. I like the loverall look but as I said its hard to comment on a site with no content

the text is hard to read on my monitor. I also suggest using a sans-serif font.

the metallic logo could use some more OOMPH!!

The text does read fine, but your website should be secondary to the actual content. Think about the best possible way your work should be displayed, and design your website around those motivations, rather than the other way around. Also, like everyone has said, you need to put a portfolio up for a portfolio website to be critiqued

Other than that, make sure your "work" page loads up first. You always want to give the user / browser the thing he/she's visited the site first and foremost.

What you see now is the news page, which is supposed to show the 3 newest/best pieces.
There'll be a link to the work page, so my work will be shown on the front page.

I guess I'll stick with the text colour and font, I like them.

By the way, I just got a cancellation from the games company I applied for an internship, so hooray for me!

Yeah, double-post, but I hope this deserves a +1.

I guess I have to change the images in the work section, the white border just doesn't fit.
Most awesome feature of this website.

if you are going to show your texture on a model, you also should show the texture on it's own, flattened so you can show all of the texture. Sometimes the model view can be limited.

Nice template, I like the simplicity, although I'd prefer the images open up in new windows, or pop up windows, so I don't have to continually hit back.

My natural inclination when viewing the model images was to close the window.

I'm sure you can steal the pop up code from somewhere, steal it from my site if you'd like.
