Junior Montreal-based Modeling/Texture Artist.

Online Portfolio: Pier-Olivier Desbiens

Greetings! With the Montreal International Games Summit Career Fair coming soon, I figured I'd create a thread to showcase my work and get some feedback about it.

I'm fresh out of a 3 year general CG arts program and am currently pursuing my studies in a one-year program strictly focused on 3D modeling for games, which is what I am aiming at. In all honesty, I'd much rather be already involved in the industry, getting paid to do what I love, but I really lack perspective about my skills as a junior.

I know that there is some character art in my portfolio, but I am currently moving on to a more props/environment-centric portfolio, as I do know that there is little to no entry-level job in character art. I still find odd how character-centric 3D-related classes still are, when it's such a saturated and high-standard market. But hey, that's not the point of the thread. As long as it's modeling or texturing related, I'm happy to work, haha.

How far am I in the level of skill required for a junior position?
