I really think you should subtract something form the scene. I love the idea but I believe this is the case of you wanting to cram as much stuff into a corner as possible.

My choice of subtraction would be the pillars or atleast the importance of the pillars in the scene atm.

yeah I agree with CGmonkey, but I think you could subtract the pillar at the corner only. Really nice idea.
