The name is David and I'm the friendly environment artist from Plano, TX. I am currently working on two modifications, Insurgency (Half-Life 2) and Point of Existence 2 (Battlefield 2).

Cool to see alot of people from the industry. I've been checking the site for some weeks, found a link somewhere (dont remember where) and it looked like it would be a nice site. So now i'm here.

I've been into game creation for a while but it's been on and off alot. I've decided to relly start doing it now and i have some stuff planed.

The tools i use is mostly Valve Hammer Editor, Maya and Photoshop. I started out making maps for HL1 way back in the day and now i make stuff for HL2. Source is the game engine of choise, i relly like the graphical style.

Onto some more personal stuff, my real name is Christoffer, and i live in Sweden. I'm 20 years old (soon to turn 21).

Atm i mostly work so i don't get much spare time, i get to play some games now and then, prefered gaming platform is my PC (relly needs an upgrade), and i also got myself a Sony PSP recently, wish there were more games for it tough.

I'll be looking forward to seeing you guys post some of your work and just have a nice time

Hi there folks! It's very nice to notice that forum has finally launched.

My name is Riku and I'm from Finland. Right now I'm 20 years old guy who loves making 3D art of all kind... hipoly models, game models, maps ect. I have been doing this for my passion from the age of 14. Over the years I have worked on different mods mainly for HL, but also own game projects with own engine. My dream one day is to be full-time game developer working on my own company or to someone else. At the moment I'm working on my online portfolio, which is heavily under construction. I'll hope I get to know you better, because I know I get along with this forum a long time...

Yo, real name is Garrison, but u most ppl call me Gordo or something stupid like that. 19 from KC, Kansas. Been modelling off and on for 3-5 years. Currently attending a Computer Animation Program at the Juco (lol), I laugh but it's a new program heavily mixed with Interactive Media, and Graphic Art. Unfortuneatly because I modelled off and on over the past years and only for mods, I feel my skill level is far below what it should be. As you may know modeling an M16 for 10 different mods doesnt really improve your skills in the way you'd hope. So I am on a Sebatical lol from now on, I guess I will drop almost all if not all my mod work and concentrate on furthering my skill through this community.

I started back in Operation Flashpoint Modding I think... so lets see wow I've been modelling off and on for a good 5-6 years if thats the case (note I've said OFF and on alot to bring that point out :P) Thats when I met FatJoe (another forum member) and we've been chums ever since. Hell back then I think we were both in about 10 different mods for OFP but we didnt do that much work lol. After that I guess I moved on to Battlefield 1942 where I was a modeller for the mini-mod DC-Realism, then numerous short stints (again off and on modelling) with HL2 mods (Sourceball, Dreamscape or whatever its name is, and some other thug mod) Then a short stint as a coder for Frosty's Realism mod for BF2 (coder lol i turned a few 1's into 0's and visa versa). Then off and back on recently this year for Red Orchestra mods, Campaign Italiana and Burningsands (which have now merged). Fill in the blanks with months w/o touching max, and a week or two with numerous failed indie teams.

Wow... but now I need to catch up big time and I hope I can do that here with you guys.

Hehehe.. Hey Gar
Welcome, the bunch of you.

Great to see this community grow larger and larger, and more big studio names appearing here and there.

My name is Nicholas Christiani aka Phobos. I enjoy long walks on the beach and staring at the stars....

I am a level designer at Threewave Software. I have been modding for about 5 years now. Starting with a Half-Life mod called Uncrossable Parallel and moving onto Red Orchestra from 2k3 on.

Hey Phobos, I worked on both Uncrossable Parallel and Red Orchestra as well. LoL your name sounds familiar, but I don't know if we ever worked on them at the same time. I probably was on UP as "Flewda" and I think my forum name on the RO boards was [RO]Josh.

Hello everyone! I'm very much interested in game art and I always enjoy studying people's work on such sites as cgtalk and mapcore; when I saw a link to this place in someone's signature I figured I should go get myself registered. I'm 18, from Massachusetts, and I've been doing environment art for the Red Orchestra mod 'burning sands'(recently renamed 'Mare Nostrum'). Coincidently, it looks like some other members of that team are here as well. Hope to learn a lot from my stay here!
