[FILM] THE WIND Needs Fresh Designers Working With Valve’s Source Engine!

The Goal: THE WIND is attempting to make a serious Machinima (video game animated film) that is groundbreaking and highly visible. I realized recently that the average age for a gamer is in much older, but the content for games and Machinima is usually targeted towards a younger market. My goal, as the writer and director, is to capture this mature market by taking gaming culture seriously and making a movie that features young adult issues and dramatic and entertaining themes.

The Synopsis: A violent poem is found by the principal of a Midwestern high school in late October. Worried about its threatening nature, he forms a group of teachers who attempt to deduce who wrote the note by profiling several students. Before they can act upon their list of names, it falls into the hands of a group of students who take it upon themselves to rid the school of the problem. Our story weaves around those four profiled students and the trials and terrors they experience at the hands of their own classmates. They are also the only ones who uncover the identity of the poem's original author.

Few in the story read the handwriting on the walls which predicts an even greater tragedy. None will survive without compassion when they all face the darkness of the wind.

The story is an interspersing of multiple sub-plots and fantasy dreamscapes that come to a climax of epic proportions. It will also not shy away from any content, no matter how controversial or hot the topic is.

What we need: We are looking for hard working designers like you. Right now we are working with Ghost Robot, a New York production company. They produce indie films and wonderful music videos. You might have seen Bjork’s Wanderlust video recently, which they completed last year. You can also read about our production in this February’s issue of the English style magazine Dazed and Confused, page 30.

We’re looking for responsible designers who can donate freelance/part/full time to the project. We are especially looking for character designers, animators and texture artists. To find out more, go to our Jobs page here: The Wind - Jobs - Join Our Team

What we have: How many mods have you all worked on only to see all of your time go to waste? This is usually caused by bad infrastructure and poor direction. To keep a successful mod and film going certain things need to be in place. Luckily, THE WIND has everything in place right now!

1. Ghost Robot – The production company Ghost Robot News. We will be approaching a major video game maker in the near future and looking for highly visible distribution. We are also seeking financing in a real way.

2. A Crew and Cast. With over 20 international people signed on to THE WIND, we have a great, easy going and motivated team to get feedback from. All of our actors are also photographed in 360 degrees and ready to be created.

3. A Director. I am a dedicated director who has worked on short films and machinima skits. I also make contemporary art and video game photography which can be seen here: Oliver Warden aka ROBOTBIGFOOT. You will get personal direction from me on a daily basis with feedback that is fair, direct and constructive.

4. A Website and Forum. The Wind. Some of our features include a News Feed, an active forum, and an FTP. We are also starting to do features on our designers and cast in the News feed so everyone can get to know the people behind the film.

5. Weekly meetings. We meet every Sunday for a working meeting. This means we chat and create work while we exchange ideas and images.

6. A Guidebook. All of our artistic and philosophical approaches are outlined in our guidebook. It makes it easy for new recruits.

Come work on something truly unique. Come break new ground in a medium that needs to be taken seriously by the mainstream. Come show us what you can do. Come join THE WIND.
