[Unpaid] Wanted: 2D World Tileset / Sprite Artist for top-down game
I'm a one man programmer/designer working on a relatively quick game, I expect to have a playable beta by May or so. I put about 30 or so hours a week into working on games from home and I'm confident this project will not go bust; there will be a playable conclusion.
I could really use a good artist or two who just wants to see their work in a completed game. I need a variety of simple tilesets for the numerous worlds you can experience in this game. For the art I like the idea of something a little more illustrated and less realistic. Lots of color in favor of boring gray metals and brown dirts. Experience making 2D Terrain and tilesets would be fantastic, as is experience drawing birds-eye top-down enemies. Here's a few relevant details about the game. Give me an email and I can talk more in depth. Project name: Shard Scape (tenative) A top down 2D game in which the player controls a tank or tanklike vehicle against levels full of enemies being continuously spawned by generators. The player collects Shards which are used to create new levels and power his various weapons. Goal of game is to use and combine shards to reach and complete various pseudo-procedurally-generated levels. There is no art direction yet. Target aim: Mostly just a portfolio piece. If it comes out well there is the possibility of making it an XBox Live Community Game. Compensation: None expected. As an XBL Community Game it would be possible to try and wrangle a few bucks. Website: Prescience Studios Contact: gregslagel(AT)gmail.com Previous Work: I recently put together a little XNA game in about a month. It's available on the Prescience Studios link above. I worked as a story/game designer on a now defunct 3-year-long amature MMO project. I was heavily involved in coding a defunct 3D puzzle game featuring physics-modeled rolling balls. Prior to that I turned out some Warcraft 3 campaigns that got over 25,000 downloads and I've been a long time amature board game designer/creator. And of course three years of work as a VB Coder/consultant. The bones of the game are taking shape currently. I have a rudimentary level editor, a player sprite that moves and shoots, bullet collision detection and the very beginnings of the enemy AI. I'd include a picture but none of the art is really even art. |
