Crystal Wolf Studioslooking for staff members.

Name:

Crystal Wolf Studios

Project Name:

Northern Ireland: Crysis

Description:

Northern Ireland: Crysis (here after referred to as NI:C) is set during the closing months of 1983, during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The player takes the role of an SBS operative sent over with his 8 man troop to deal with a new, and emerging threat - that of a more brutal, and radicalised splinter group of the IRA. The radicalism of this group is a severe threat, especially due to their links with Colonel Gaddafi's Libyan regime - in particular, it's arms dealing. Gradually, a plot is uncovered that could kill thousands, if not stopped in time. Can you, the player, halt the plot, and neutralise the threat?

Background and Compensation:

The underlying background of the game, was to give an accurate - where possible - portrayal of the Troubles, and the 80's. To this end, we've done extensive research in regards to accounts of the period, in particular from soldiers who served in the 80-85 period.

The main idea was to make the game as unprejudiced as possible, with no sides been taken. We understand the sensibilities at stake here - the majority of the team happens to be from the UK, so we understand it fully. Our aim is also to try and make the modification to give a feel of the 80's, and that time period, as well as we could.

In the unlikely-hood that this was picked up by a commercial studio (Yeah, right - the idea of this alone would cause most marketing/legal departments to blow a gasket...) all profit would be fairly distributed across the remaining team members, and any member that can still be contacted, if their contribution was large enough.

The Game Engine:

At the moment, we're working with the Cryengine2 for our total modification. Within this, there were going to be several style changes, such as menus, damage to NPC's - you get hit by an AK in real life, you're be missing half your shoulder - and effectively, as much as we can get to make the AI seem more realistic, along with the modification in general.

Positions open:

At the moment, we're looking for the following skills for the team.

3D Artist - We're in need of skilled, or medium level, modellers, and texturers, to create Weaponry, Vehicles, Assets, NPCs, and in some cases, buildings. We've got a lot of assets to include in the mod, so we need to have a strong group of modellers.

Concept Artists: Ideally focused on one of the following areas - Vehicles, Environmental, Characters - but doesn't have to be, as long as they're able to make good, accurate, concepts for the Mappers, and 3D Artists to work from.

Team Structure:

At the moment, our team consists of about 8 people, with a wide variety of skills, except we are lacking in having skilled modellers and texturers.

(Apologies for the title, I missed a space out. Irritating.)
