Input Games - Level/Map Designers needed
![]() DRIVE This is our first project, and its huge to start with, however we have the motivation to carry it out. The Island is apparently supposed to be around 512mile SQ, which is reasonable, maybe on the larger side. The game is a MOOR, Massively Online Open Racing, basically a driving game. The project started in July 2011 (so 4 months ago) after a game that promised to be a good buy, turned out to be full of bugs and glitches. (and hackers, and rammers). In terms of completetion, we are looking to begin Pre-Alpha tests next year, ie Late Q1/Early Q2. However, with a new Level Designer onboard, we would be able to speed this process. Technical/PR Stuff The game is going to hit the Freeware market head on. It will be taking on it's rival Test Drive Unlimited 2 and sending that to the ashes (this is the game that was mentioned above). Because of the rarest of the genre, its pretty much open to anyone. Income will come in the form of In-game advertising, and additional DLCs. For an engine, we considered making our own, however this would be too difficult for an Indie team. Instead, we are using the CryEngine 3 SDK, which is a good engine, many terrain generation options and that. Plus its one of the easiest to learn all the commands and all that. The public will also be involved. For those who have heard of C.A.R.S, our project is similar. To allow community members to help out with the process of development. (Note, we started in July 2011, before World of Mass Development had been announced, so we are not copying them in any way). Members will be able to take on different roles, either writer, modeller, designer, etc. you get the idea. Announcements will happen on our Forum first, then FaceBook/Twitter along with our Blog. Talent Required You don't need too much experience with Level Design in general. Every level designer would have to learn the basics of CryEngine 3, which isn't very hard to learn. Professionals may be able to take over the Head of Level Design if you can do better islands etc. than our current head. Contacting You have a huge choice. You may either post/introduce on our Forums: Input Games' Forum • Index page - Excuse the .web44.net, the .com is expiring from another company (NOT LINKED) at the end of this month, so we can buy it then. You may also email us: info@inputgame.web44.net - This may take a little while, as it goes to our Spambox Or you can email me personally, which get's checked every few hours - quintinplane@gmail.com Project renders: Truely love this shot. Taken in a level from Crysis with our first untextured car: ![]() ![]() More available on request via PM |
