2d/3d Environmental Artist

Full-service video game development company in western Massachusetts seeking a skilled 2d/3d environmental artist, able to make realistic/hyper realistic looking scenes. This is a project for a high profile company, and we can offer full time contract work for the right person.
The ideal candidate is located in Massachusetts or the New England area, so that studio visits are possible, but we are willing to consider artist with strong portfolios and excellent communication skills to work remotely.

Skill sets:
-Good communication, takes critique.
-Strong understanding of Autodesk Maya for use of creating environments. (modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering)
- Strong digital painting skills, most game images with be shown in primarily 2d
-Concepting ability.
-Able to work independently.
-Strong basics, composition, lighting, and staging.
-Work is emphasizing biological (flaura, fauna), biological, and mechanical influences.
-Understanding of Vue is a bonus.

I've worked on a game similar to Blood and Ruby, which was also hosted on Big Fish. It involved doing the levels in 3D in Maya and painting over the renders for HOG levels. If you look at the third section down, that would be the game. Hope to hear from you~!
