Introduce yourself

This thread is to offer the possibility to experience something about those, who hide behind the nick names or just to say hello, if you are new to the forums.

As for me, my real name is Max and I live in germany. I'm 20 years old and my interests are of course game art. I have messed around with Unreal2x Engine and CryEngine. I'm glad to be here and will try my best to make this a nice place.

Im William, 20 years old, and currently live in Breda, the Netherlands.
A few years ago i first touched 3d, back then, i started out with milkshape 3d, what a horrific program..
Later, after i decided that milkshape sucked balls, i got into 3dsmax. Shortly after, i met some guy.We teamed up, and started an open source project called Alternova, and was our key, to a job at a gamescompany. When i see back those renders, god, just plain awful.. Anyhow, since then a few projects passed, got kicked out of one, (i always seem to loose interest after 5 to 10 models ) and had to pass down more (posting reasonable renders mostly filled with noobs that think the built in theopot in max is their lifes work isnt good..) and now, i have had it with those kinds of projects. To be honoust, 1 out of 10 in the end stands up from the crow, and like 500 people are going crazy over it. Half a year later, everyones like, what was the name of that game again?

Now im throwing myself in a study international games architecture and design, to feed my hunger for knowledge.

interesting detail, the dude from the project Alternova, is now working as a coder for Guerilla Games in Amsterdam, the lucky bastard!

Hi

My name is Jeroen Maton. I'm 19 years old, and i live in Belgium. I started of like most of us with gaming. Very soon after I started to make my own maps (with UnrealEngine, yes indeed ). After quite some time mapping i started modeling, primairly to make props for my maps. Needless to say that this wasn't going very easy. But, with some hard work i managed to pull true. I'm now the weapon modeler for "Invasion of the Unknown", a game-project i'm working with.

Next year i want to start a "gamedesign-education" (DAE), where i will learn C++, 3dsMax, and tons of other neat stuff. After that i would like to do some specialisation, like for example the education Schuey is taking, but that's still future music

cheers

I'm here too. I'm a World Artist at EA Mythic. Telekinetic Frog made me post here or he'd beat me up.

Howdy

Yes I certainly threatened violence...hehe...Anyways, I'm TelekineticFrog. My real name is Chris and I'm a Senior Artist / Animator with THQ Inc., at one of their internal development studios named HELIXE. I've been developing Nintendo GBA, DS and soon Wii titles for licensed properties. Some of the licenses have included Pixar, Disney, Lucas Film Ltd., Nickelodeon and others. I've also had development experience with cell phone games as well. When I'm not doing art or animation work for games in my studio job...well I'm always working on art and animations for games. To me it's not just a job as corny as it sounds. I've always wanted to make games and that's probably what I will always do. I use 3D Studio Max at the studio and it is my software of choice for 3D work. I do everything from low to high poly modeling, rigging, skinning, UVs, texture painting, scripting, level design and UI. I'm currently playing around with Unreal Ed a lot, Mudbox, and ZBrush. Feel free to ask questions if you ever have any. It'd be nice to see this site thrive and end up quite useful for all.

My Name is Lee, I'm currently working as a level designer for nFusion Interactive using Unreal Engine 3. I started this position like most people for the love of making mods. I am familar with Unreal Engine 2 & 3, Maya, Max I still need to learn Zbrush and Mudbox.

Feel free to ask me any questions. The ones regarding Unreal Engine 3, I may not be able to answer though until UT2007 comes out.

Hey everyone names James, 22 from New Zealand. Been a 3d artist for about 4-5 years with game art being my main passion. Started out with mod work, did a lot of custom weapons for CS and DOD. Worked for a game dev company for about 2 years till it went under. Was great though did all sorts of normal map research as it was new at the time so hopefully i can share a little info with you all.

Looking foward to seeing some art
