Hi all, my name's Patrick, I'm good with 3ds Max9 and Photoshop, currently studying for a Game Design degree in Minnesota. I love the site and am looking forward to speed modeling/texturing to improve my skills, and start learning Zbrush/Mudbox.

Hello Game Artists

Hello there everyone.
My name is Simon. I am 22 years old and live in Sweden with my girlfriend and a cat named Faust.
I've been "addicted" to games since I first played one and some years ago me and my brother, Tiros, got our first version of 3d Studio Max and it was really fun. But it's not untill now I've really decided to get in to it and learn. I've tried a few times before but failed - but this time I will do my best. So I am pretty new to modelling, texturing and so on and will see how it goes, hopefully I'll get some advice here and check out some tutorials.

To-do-list:
Introduce myself on Game-Artist [X]
Try to model a character in 3d Max [ ]
Make my own RTS-game [ ] *cough*

Old Git Here

I joined up today and am probably old enough to be most member's father - does that matter?

Anyway, a bit about me. I qualified as a graphic designer centuries ago and then moved into multimedia and websites. A few years ago I was smitten with 3D and spent a while learning the craft and developing my own ideas into three stories, one of which I started to make into a short film.

However, I realised my animation sucked so I went back to college to learn how to animate at Animation Mentor. So after a year there, I got a bit better and decided to try and make a career out of it. So here I am now looking at trying to become a games/vfx animator.

Mind you I have also tried to develop my modeling and texturing skills, I figured that it might help.

Hey Everyone,

My name is Tyler, 23, and I live in Miami, FL. I got into art through graffiti and after doing a bit of graphic and web design I got into Maya and haven't turned back since. I am in school pursing a BA in Film and Multimedia and I am devoting more time to modeling and texturing game characters, props, and environments. Being new to game modeling I hope I can learn and gain insight and criticism from you guys and hope to land a job in the industy when I finish school. Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hi all

Even though I go to school for game art I do not practice it enough.

Not that I can't make anything I just take other time to digi paint and stuff.

I'm hoping that being on this site will inspire me to focus more on the 3d aspect of creativity.

peace :]

Hey, peoples.
I'm Anders, hailing from norway, but am currently seeking refuge in sweden and studying at playgroundsquad alongside the bastard child psychord who also creeps these forums.

I am rather artistically challenged, but ya gotta learn sometime and this seems to be a good place for it. Hoping to steal all your tricks and techniques, but there's no reason to be paranoid as I'll steal them anyway. Otherwise looking forward to getting to know all you savants in here. : ) Huzzah!

Hello there Game-Artist.net community.

My name is Romain, known as Skacky on the Internet. I'm currently 18 and I live in France. I design levels for several years now (something around 7 years if I remember correctly) and I've been hired to work on a game as a level designer last year (july 2008 to be precise).

I'm currently studying cinema and art in high school while designing levels, and I hope my job in the industry will be as cool as it is now, still I have a lot of things to learn, modeling for example.

I'm very pleased to be here on a board with tons of really incredible artists and I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay.

Hi,
My name is Tyler, I'm turning 16 this year and I'm from Australia. Game art has been my passion since 2005 and I only tried it out for about 6 months but then had no time to do any work. I recently got back into it mid 08 and Have been working hard at it. I hope to become a professional game artist and study game art and design at UNI, Not sure what highschool is for lol ( we don't have any game art electives). My parents think that I'm playing computer games lol, or its just a picture.

I sneak in a few hours of 3d on the week days before my parents come home ( have to study), and weekends I spend most of the day making game art stuff. Yet I don't have a portfolio and am still trying to make some nice pieces. I make mainly props or weapons but I've only made a few characters in the past. I hope to get into character modeling when I can.

The programs I use are Max 9 ,My dad is a techinal engineer that does design drawings with autocad, and recieved this program with it, So he let me play around with it, And For texturing Photoshop 7, I have a really outdated computer so It lags when I have over 100 layers of heavy stuff. I saved and bought zbrush and I'm hoping to learn High poly sculpting for characters when I start getting into it.

I like this site the best mainly because of the speed texturing and Article/tutorial topics, And people seem really helpful and not that harsh when criticizing.
