hello, I'm 14 and i am a relatively new at game art n what not, i started last year but I've been doing it on and off until recently. I've used a lot of different modeling/art programs but currently i am using... XSI mod tool, photoshop, and zbrush. i occasionally use Gmax when i need to do art for wc3 but that's rare as of late.
recently i joined a contracting "team" for game art (just me and two other people for now) just in case you happen to know him, the leader of the group is shigee, and I'm pretty sure he's a member of these forums despite his in-activeness here. hope to meet more of you and learn more about modeling/game art. Hello all, my name is Oli and I am a first year university student studying games design in Leeds. I previously studied games development in college, and I hope to eventually be apart of the games industry! I am extremely interested in all parts of games design but character design and modeling are my personal favourites.

Yo, my names Steven but every one calls me Dave, who knows why... Well i do but i can't be bothered to explain. Just now joined this site.
I've just decided to study as a Game Artist but a two year art course before that, in which time I'm gonna use to grow my skill 3D software. I'm pretty dam good with Photoshop, but i see no means of getting in to the Games industry on that skill alone. Well its col being... thats all i have to say... for now! Fav game is Timesplitters 2 or 3 And for some reason obsessed with Buffy the vampire slayer, i brought the original xbox to get the first game, And have every Buffy and Angel Dvd ever made...ever...really ever... Hello
Hello everyone. The name I usually go by is Corndogman939 or just Corndogman, but I decided to mix it up this time
. I've been lurking here for about a month or so but just now decided to join. I've seen a lot of great pieces here and lots of great tutorials.I'm currently making multiplayer levels and other game content for the Halo: Custom Edition game for PC. That is how I got into 3d modeling, about a year in a half ago. I know only a little about texturing with Photoshop, but know how to model pretty well in 3d studio max. I use 3ds Max 8 because the exporters required for Halo CE don't work for higher versions. A little about myself personally, my first name is Cory and I'm 16 years old. I'd like to work in the Game industry when I'm older, but I'm not entirely sure that's the path for me. Right now I'm just going to keep learning and exploring the world of 3d art, and hopefully find the right career path for myself. If I do decide to pursue a career in game art, then I will hopefully take some college courses in Game design. But I still have about a year and a half left of high school to figure that out. Thats about all I have to say, I look forward to getting to know you guys and bettering myself as a 3d artist. ![]() |

Good morning, all.
I go by Jay, but can usually be found as VirtualAlias on the web. I am a texture artist/amateur 3d modeler (though I am 500% more at-home in Photoshop than anywhere else). Doing persistent worlds for Neverwinter Nights got me interested in game development, though I don't have any professional experience to date. I've spent more time than I care to share in the Aurora Level Editor, (including building Hak Paks/Texture Paks and such) but I've yet to do any work in FPS map editors. I've got 2 1/2 years of Westwood's Game Art & Design Bachelor's program under my belt, but I ended up leaving for a few reasons, money not the least of which and an offer for a great job that ended up falling through after I left Westwood. I have two years experience in Web Design/Graphic Design. (Designing a website for GOCO and a Digital Media Archive Interface for the Denver International Airport) I currently test my texture designs in IBM's OpenSim. I do most of my 3d work in AC3D due to the simplicity of its interface, but I also have a very limited knowledge of 3dsMax 7. I can texture pretty much anything...It's just modeling it that's difficult for me. Or, more to the point, unwrapping it. I'm currently 27 and self-employed, though I hope to get a job in the gaming industry as soon as I have put together a more solid portfolio. I still have some learning to do before I feel comfortable applying, since 3d modeling is involved. If it were just Photoshop, I'd be passing out apps like candy on Halloween. So, without utterly boring everyone to death. If you read this far, congratulations on your attention span. I'll be lurking about! ![]() |

Well hello my name is Ryan. I thought it was time to stop lurking and actually sign up.
I tend to be as at home killing people on Call of Duty 4 as I am modelling stuff in Studio Max. Though at the moment I am trying to focus more on a weak spot for me, which is creating textures in photoshop. I just finished a two year course in Computer Game Technology and hope to get a job in the industry as soon as I can. I would rather not be stuck at Sainsburys forever. Well... err... not a lot more to say. See you all around.
