Thats terribly unfortunate!
I've actually NEVER had any of my western digital hard drives fail even the 512mb drive from my first machine still works flawlessly. Could you give some more details to your problem? Is it not showing up in bios? have you checked the cables? (it will turn on without data connections) |

did you drop it at all? any power cuts?
I use freecom externals, only had 1 fail on me but that was my fault, broke the socket for the data cable. HDD's are quite inexpensive these days, so, I guess you could try to get it fixed, but it might be simpler just to get a new one? But indeed, as MrDev says, thats bad luck old chap! :/ |

I have had my share of problems with WD, I bought 2 500 gig drives last year, they both died 2 weeks apart from each other. I kept them and I will try and hook them up again when I have some time. There's nothing on it that I can't miss so I kept them in my closet ever since. My favorite HD's are def. Maxtor (now Seagate).
