Game environemnts.
I am just starting to learn environment modeling. I always look at the beutifull scenery in games such as Halo 3 Gears of war, and think how can any of this be low poly? I need to know what a general poly count for a next gen average (lets say multiplayer map) would be and how you keep track compared to the size of your environment and such. Any tutoirals and tips for environment modeling also apreciated.
Thanks. |

This is pretty much a rsart - Rick Stirling, games artist » Blog Archive » How many polygons in a piece of string? question,
but this (for characters): rsart - Rick Stirling, games artist » Blog Archive » Yes, but how many polygons? and this (for environments): Rules & Regs - Unearthly should give you some idea. There is no "correct" answer, it varies upon game genre and engine and hardware capability. |
