Sorry for bringing back a semi-old thread...but, in the united states (its where I live) its all about where you work. Infinity Ward was not well know till they came out with the title COD4. Then they were able to give the advancement of money. The pay depends on the out-come of the game mostly. My bro was a game- artist with semi-knowledge going into the field and made 60k right out of college for being a game artist.
A lot also depends on your love for gaming, most people think that they can go into the game-artist creation field with-out ever really playing that many games. Well its not true, the love for gaming is needed also (not like we already) knew that. |

LOL 50-60k a year is good. However it is all in the eye of the beholder. If you burn through money and can not finance yourself correctly then I would say no.
