Do you listen to music while.....

I do listen to music while i work, mainly:

Machinehead (I like the new Album most - The Blackening)

In Flames (Some of them are really inspiring and have a really cool feeling i.e. Acoustic Medley of the Jester Race Album)

System Of A Down (Also some really cool songs, but i like the older Albums more - SOAD, Toxicity, StA)

Tenacious D (This band just rocks, the lyrics are Awesome)

Amon Amarth (This band has the name of a Mountainside in Middle Earth)

and many Game Soundtracks most of them are of Jeremy Soule (Like the Oblivion Title Track most and also the whole soundtrack of this game)

I listen to music no matter what Im doing. If I can get away with having music on, or my iPod on I do it, including at work (I work as an engineer by the way, not an artist ). If I did happen to work as an artist there would be no doubt that Id listen to music. In fact more so as it helps me get into the flow of things.

Things Ive been mostly listening to recently (I also only really listen to whole albums so these arent songs)

Nine inch nails - With teeth
Audioslave - Audioslave
Oceansize - All albums
65daysofstatic - Fall of Math (This one is particularily good for inspiration and stuff. Hurray for heavy dance music)
Tool/perfect circle - All albums
Al Di Meola - Kiss my Axe (for something a bit lighter)

Erm. There are loads more.

I also used to listen to Pandora a lot ... but its not available in the UK anymore

Usually I prefer more chilled out stuff while working.

It varies quite a lot, usually swinging wildly between chillout, blues, reggae and electronic stuff.

The usual stuff I like to listen to is OST's from the likes of Halo and Mass Effect. I really don’t listen to a lot of what you might call normal music. I will get the odd song from I-Tunes but that’s it really.

Check out Last.fm – The Social Music Revolution. It does the same thing (and was doing it first) but it also records what you listen to from your own MP3 collections and can recommend artists to you based on other people's listening tastes who are similar to your own.

I usually don't like listening to music while working, unless I am doing something mundane or if the music is relaxing and possibly has no vocals (like classical music). I find it distracting sometimes.
