Appropriate thread location - Unreal Engine 3 Tip of the Day

Hey guys,

I'm about to dig very deep into the Unreal 3 Engine and thought it would be a great idea for me to share some of the techniques I've learned as I work on my projects. I've been using the engine off and on for about 6-7 months now and I've had the benefit of being taught by an instructor whose company has a license for the engine. I'm not an expert, nor do I claim to be one.

I would like to know which forum would be the best place to start an Unreal 3 Engine tip of the day thread. I'll probably cover the engine and tricks I've learned as well as some of the considerations for my projects that would extend to what I do outside of the engine to make sure what I do inside goes smoothly.

It is my strong opinion that this engine needs all of the exposure it can get within the mod and artist community. So many companies are using it, yet the UT3 game hasn't sold well and exposure to the tools and techniques to use within it are scarce and spread out. I'd like to bring people to this forum site (because it's my favorite) through this thread and also develop what can be a definitive resource to anyone using Unreal Engine 3, at least in a mod capacity.

I love to teach people whatever I know, no matter how limited it may be. I've also been doing a lot of flash programming lately and there's a guy by the name of Senocular who has has been posting a tip of the day for Actionscript 3 every day since June 19, 2006 and just about every subject I've researched on AS3 has brought me to a post in that thread.

Anyways, just let me know where I should or could start this up. Thanks.

I'd imagine the tutorials section would be the best place

Although if you're also updating with shots of your work, etc... then you might want to start a thread in the WIP section.

I won't be posting shots in the sense that I would be updating people on my progress. I'll probably be linking images off of my domain that illustrate the points I'm trying to make. The thread wouldn't be for the duration of one project, but more of all of the work I do with UE3 and the things that I have found that I believe will help people. I could also just url link all of the images so they're not expanding the pages if you'd like.

I think tutorials sounds like a good place. I just figured I would ask as the majority of the links in that section are to a finite process. Mine would be a lot of processes.

I kind of missed this the other day, but yes, the tutorial section is definitly the best way to do this. I started a thread where i'm going to add all the user created tutorials (not yet visible for the public though, still working on it), so I'm definitly going to add yours if they are good...

cheers
