Game architecture and design in Breda, the Netherlands. This is an international study, provided by the NHTV. Coming schoolyear is the first year, so i dont have much experience, all i can say now, is that it looks very very promosing

its really built up good, it consists of two studies who work together, the programmers, and the artists. Ill tell more, when i know more myself :P

the school in utrecht is more global, you learn different kind of things, hold up ill give you the 2 site's,

Wat leer je?
• kunnen werken in een multidisciplinair gameteam;
• gedegen kennis van vormgeving, modelling, texturing, animatie, techniek en productie;
• alle disciplines in een ontwerpteam zodanig samen te voegen, dat de speelbaarheid van een game een hoog niveau bereikt.

Het studieprogramma van de propedeuse loopt in het eerste jaar deels parallel met het programma van de opleiding BAT Interaction Design. Een greep uit de hoofdvakken: Interactietheorie, Theorie van Spel en Spelen, Conceptualiseren en Ontwerpprocessen, Schetsen, Grafisch Ontwerpen voor Games, Game en Level Design, 2D- en 3D-technologie, Game Engines.

what do you learn?
- you learn how to work as part of a team... ( wow )
- knolidge of: modeling, texturing, animating, techniques and production
- to bring all the knolidge in a design team into a high level product that is playable,
( to me this is to short to discripe your education you gice at a school )

the studie program walk paralel with some other thing.., a grasp of courses: interaction theorie, theorie of playing a game..., conceptualusion ( if you spell it like that ) and designprocess, scechings/drawings, graphic designing for games, game and level design, 2d-3d technologie, game endines..

TO BE HONOUST, it doesn't sound so promesing, and specialy the way they wright it down,
and what i believe is that the little kids in the netherlands that THINK they like to do game design particepate here, ( also what i've seen on TV of an openday )

the school in breda is just a bit better, i've been to the openday in breda and the things the told and showed where great. now i know that every openday is more promesing then it realy is. but if you compare those 2 schools breda is just a much better place to go.

everything you do at breda is in english, wich is realy good for your skills, everything you do later on in the industry will be in english.

also the school is split in 2, one part for the programmers, and one for the artists.
there for the education of a part will be much intenser then in utrecht.
the school in utrecht is more global,

breda only takes 90 people a year for each part of the studie, so 180 in total, ( was 60 i believe but they changed it ) so the people that make it so far will be of a high level,

i've seen the studie program for breda, what you will do and learn in 4 years, and that sounded much more promesing then utrecht did,

nah im stilling doing my 5 - 6 and 7end year in belgium then im going to utrecht anyway wanna come to the open door (dont know how to say it) in utrecht on 25 november this year ?

breda also will have some openday's soon so if i where you i'd visit them! ( i will be going to )
