Congratuilations! Seems a lot of people on GA is getting hired these days.. not suprising though seeing as GA is a better place for learning than any uni you could find

Well, don't bee too nervous.. Seeing as they're hiring you they probobly know pretty well what kind of potential you have, which means you're fit for the job

Cheers!

I got hired tooooo. My first industry job and as a trainee vfx artist for a very popular studio in South England. so I am doing everything under the sun it looks like, from modelling, texturing, animation, particles the works. I cant wait but I gotta work my notice at my retail job before I get there, 2 weeks to go

I do have a massive thanks to game-artist.net though as its made me pull my finger out and got me in contact for the position on their now hiring thread. Just hope I can do all the work they put infront of me.

Best thing is though that I do not have to work the midnight launch of the new GTA now. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY goodbye retail

Nice job guys, I recently landed a Graphic Artist job with a company in Halifax, Canada myself. I'll be moving out there in less then two weeks now.

I also got hired a month ago ( Which is why you don't see me as much on here - lol ) However its just a QA tester position for now, but having a link to developers to ask them about my work straight up is very helpful. I'm currently working on a UT level that uses only Textures/Models made by me which I will probably post here in its own thread soon too.

Good luck to everyone else. We all know it isn't easy.

Cool stuff man, it's still a good start and a great way to make contacts...just make sure you keep practicing your art skills and you'll be fine.

i started work at iw as a tester too. but i used that position to really poke and prod into the heads of the devs there and eventually got noticed. i like to think of the test department as the game industry's mail room.
