Bitmap to Material
I Don't know if anyone knows this or not. I got this couple of days ago and found this very interesting and very help full in development.
Take a look at this link Allegorithmic - Smart Textures - Bitmap2Material - Normal Map Generator I use this in unity but you can also use this in 3ds max and Maya. basicly you will need a texture. Diffuse only and you can make normal, occlution , specular hight map inside Unity , max or Maya. Amazing Tool. Even you can make a image tilable with it. Great for textures that you want to make tilable in your scene. Take a look at this videos. Give it a try. Download as a trial version . it is amazing tool. Looks pretty cool.
I use ndo2 though, and that also works great (cheaper too).

Yes. I was also using nDo n Nvidia filters but found this from somewhere and this is amazing.
