Be careful using those types of tutorials, as they're not intended for game art (most of them). Meaning that a lot of them will have you painting in highlights and shadows to create depth. Probably some good techniques in there, just be careful when going through them.

Leather texturing tutorials
Tutorials that are Photoshop based:
// Custom Brushes in Photoshop - getting started by Rickard Johansson Leather Armor (painting in Photoshop): // Painting Armor - Leather by Mike (Daarken) Lim A few for gaming and 3D: 3ds Max: // Material Tutorial: Leather in 3DS Max by Florence Design Academy Texture Painting & Creating Bump and Specular Maps with Photoshop CS5 | Aleso3d | Just Premium Content – Vray Tutorials, 3ds Max, Free 3d Models, Textures, Photoshop, Zbrush and free stuff | 3d tutorials Downloads etc: Suztv: Leather Styles and Brushes LEATHER: Tutorials, Textures, Brushes, Patterns, Icons, Wallpapers and More | SOULTRAVELMULTIMEDIA Hope that helps - other than that you could google your question with the specific software that you need help with. But I think the best luck would be to follow one of the 3D tutorials for leather texture that is procedural and not entirely based upon bitmaps. |
