Getting honest and comprehensive feedback early in your learning seems critical to me too. Finding some sort of mentor is especially helpful for that... just saying because a lot of your people I've met (and older ones too, in college) tend to focus on the techniques they've nailed down. Thus, although they work about 8 hours a day, their growing rate ends up being pretty ridiculous and discouraging.

Anyone know any good advice or tutorials on drawing and designing environments? It seems to be a bit harder to find good stuff on this area than characters and the like.
