What's Better for a Portfolio?
Hey guys. I'm in my last semester of Uni and have around about 14-15 til the end and I have a major assignment to do what ever we want. Originally I was going to create a jungle environment with a river running through it with a few huts sitting in the river (like this http://www.canvasstorehouse.com/imag...er_1182517.jpg)
Creating the terrain is driving me insane and it's kinda ruined the idea for me so I'm thinking of either changing the idea or do a load of dioramas / props. So what do you guys think would be better to show? Environment or a load of dioramas / props?

My tip would be doing a complete environment, even if its really small and focused. By doing an environment you get a lot of bang for your buck so to speak. Not only do you get to do a bunch of props, you get to do the lighting, particles and post-processing and presentation.
Just keep it small, and make sure you have enought time to finish it and polish it. |

Cool, thanks for reply. Just found out an easier way of doing terrain so will give my idea one last try, hopefully it'll pan out
I got about 14-15 weeks so I've got plenty of time ![]()

Make it small with a lot of details and visual interest. You don't need to make a HUGE environment. Recruiters expect from a junior to have high quality contents, when seniors may tends to have more quantity to show with their experiences.
