Xbox 720?

Hey, I'm hearing "rumors" about the XBOX 720 being released in 2013. First, I shrugged it off as a stupid assumption made on a shot from Real Steel, but it hasn't gone away...

I'm also hearing that there is a possibility that it WILL NOT play used games???

Yeah interesting speculation.

Eventually it will all be cloud and consoles will become nothing more than terminals. The ownership of entertainment media will disappear and be replaced by pay for play, with only a limited underground that will continue to own, illicit media.

Actually all vendors have a constant battle with option limitation. With videos, dvds, cds. cassette tapes (remember those), the problem has always been that the system that had the least restrictions sold the most. Manufacturers and distributors seem to live in a fantasy world where their customers are restricted to only consume products in a way that is dictated to them and aimed at deriving the most revenue. The only disadvantage to the approach is that we are also free not to buy an x, y or z box. That is something I would do if the system became any way inconvenient.

The things talked about in the article are conjecture at this point, but it sounds about right.
