Computer? Mac vs Windows.

Hi I'm new to the whole gaming industry and will be purchasing a new computer in the near future. I currently don't have a price range but would be looking at a tops of $2500 AU dollars. I am still debating between Mac and Windows. I really don't know too much about the gaming but I have been working with photoshop for a couple years now for photography and minimal graphic design and had a mess around on 3dmax for a game called Jibberish making a couple little levels and and characters. I obviously want to be fast as I'm expecting to have numerous big programs like the likes of Photoshop maybe 3Dmax (or one your recommend) and probably a music composing software like Logic Studios or Frutyloops. At the moment I'm running on a Linux Mint 11 Toshiba boot as Vista went to the blue screen of death and the black screen and i couldnt fix it I wouldn't be looking for a screen bigger than 15" and no smaller than 13"-ish. I'm favouring Alienware/Xps and Mac Pro. But enlighten me to your views! Next year I'm doing a course at school at software and game artist design and possibly and probably intend of carrying it out maybe doing a University course in it or try get a internship in it at some company. Also I want to learn to code as well. Please help. Much appreciated, thanks Raphattack.

It's Depant on you.
If you going to use max/UDK. U have to buy Windows. because max and usk is not availabe for mac.
If you going to use maya/unity you can go for mac.
maya and unity is also availabe for windown.
I suggest you to go and buy a windows machine.
because windows have huge lybrary of software and hardware support then mac.
you can upgrade windows machine in cheap rates. i don't have any kind of idea about upgrading a apple machine.

I suggest you to assamble you own machine then buing a workstation. it is so cheaper and very flexible. you can get what you want like Proseccor you want, GPU you want.
You don't have much options in workstation.....

Yes I would suggest windows also. If you want to run mainstream applications and take advantage of smaller programs that are very useful then windows is your best bet.

There are people who run windows on a mac with no problem however that is not true for everyone.
