Avatar!

Someone had to start a fanboy thread and unfortunately i decided to volounteer, here it is... AVATAR!!!

Been dying to say this somewhere other than to my girlfriend over and over again. Who thinks Avatar is awesome? Like really awesome? I just watched for the 4th time and im blown away by it. Also does anyone know if there is any info on the development of the movie online? i have seen some of the pieces on cgtalk but havent found much else and i would love to know a little more about it.

Also if anyone replies to this lets keep it spoiler free just cos id hate to spoil it for anyone as its so awesome

Later. Ben

I really loved that movie!
This Cameron Geeks Out on Avatar | AWN | Animation World Network was quite interesting. I was looking for some insight into the production as well, found a couple of nice movies on youtube. Just search for "avatar making of" or something in case you haven't already

Yeah, it was pretty great. Could have been awful but luckily it was all very tastefully done. The only bit that jarred with me a bit was when they're all sitting down in front of the tree and swaying during that ceremony. Struck me as slightly Jar-jar Binksey. But other than that, really great. I'm not sure about the game though. If I was designing it I'd be aiming for gameplay kind of like mirror's edge or tomb raider, given the dynamics of movement in that world.

airage that interview was pretty good, tho for some immature reason i was a bit dissapointed they used mocap but i dont really know why, think its just me being immature lol I havent heard anythign about the game, IGN gave it a passable score of 6 i think which doesnt look good, tho i think if i see it i will try it out, maybe fans of the movie could forgive it a bit more. I was very surprised to see Ubisoft was making it, these kind of titles tend to scream cheap production crew or massive corporate body like EA, tho Ubisoft are a nice middle ground and could do it justice.

Just watched it for the 5th time btw
im hooked

I thought it was pretty entertaining, though unfortunately I've only gotten to see it in 2d as my local theatre is small >.<
Might as well have handed out eye patches.

Just saw it again, though this time in 3d. I've never seen a film in digital 3d before, so the difference was amazing from the very first scene.
