might be similar to how you have to mix in a little truth to make a good lie believable
love that metaphor lol

you know its a bit fo a shame i think that the actors are second to the stuf on screen, usually its the case but in this stting where they are overshadowed by such technology i think their role is a bit overlooked in the eyes of the public, i think only people who know a bit about the creation process can really apreciate how hard it must be for those people to do all this in a mocap rig and set.

also im not sure if anyone else got this but has anyone ever watched dinotopia on bbc i think a few years ago? The whole flying concept and the fact that the animal chooses the partner is all almost ripped straight from that series.

I enjoyed it. The plot wasn't exactly original but it was fun, and I'm not going to try and analyse the apparent inconsistencies of the Pandora ecosystem. Its an alien world people, it has floating mountains. Who cares if the ecology is unbelievable :P

Actually, I can imagine mining a floating mountain of the thing that keeps the mountain floating might be a bit...risky

Bob: "YO! I found an awesome deposite of ore, I'm just about having mined it all!"
Ryan: "Dud, you haven't logged that in!"
Bob: "So what, we get the bonus for the extra mining."
Ryan: "You dumbarse, we have to keep a balance or the whole...whats that....ARGHHHH!"

If they throw off the electrical equipment enough that they have to fly by sight, they'd probably run into some problem getting the bulky mining equipment to navigate around them (the actual mining equipment from the opening establishing shots completely dwarfs those large bulldozer things). It would probably be more economical for them to focus on the big mines (like the one under the tree) than to waste resources trying to get smaller amounts from the sky.

The mountains reminded me of Escaflowne's Levitation Rocks / Wandering Grounds. A perfect choice for eye candy.
