Help creating a digital portfolio?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to start creating a portfolio to submit mid next year. I am wondering if anyone knows any tutorials on creating digital portfolios in After Effects? Simple things like turntables that can fade in and out of wireframe and textured, and just a general guide to get me going.

Furthermore, is there a downside to submitting a website link to companies? Are dvd's favoured?

I appreciate any help anyone can offer, I looked thoroughly for any portfolio advice but couldn't find any.

Edit: I did read the portfolio section, but it focused primarily on websites, which I'd be happy to use, but I am put off that a dvd showreel could be more rewarded.
