I went for andybozo,
All colored & camo versions of UAV are in my opinion not UAVs, because these planes are very noticeable from ground where as the purpose of a UAV is to be unnoticeable. So despite the fact that as a 3d flying vehicle I loved Titus' Entry but I couldn't vote for it only because of this reason. I loved the sleek and simple yet high-tech look and design of Xoliul. I had to chose one from Xoliul and andybozo. so i went for andy because of more attention to the detail and accomplishing a very good UAV within the boundaries of initial concept design which itself was a challenge. Everyone else really made this competition interesting. Cheerz ![]() |

![]() The way I see it is thus, for a vehicle constructed from mostly carbon fibre and used for commercial purposes as my vehicle is, it really does not follow at all that it should be heavily rusted or have significant evidence of extensive use. I do agree however that the white painted metal does not read as well it could. I would definitely be looking to improve that if I was going to take more time with it or use the same effect in future. You seem to be referring to the intake where the air enters the engine as the exhaust by the way, which is incorrect. If you look at any existing vehicle of any type that uses combustion technology with an intake and an exhaust, then the intake side is generally quite clean and the exhaust side is generally the dirty and sooty side. Really though, what you are saying in a roundabout way is that unless the model is very noticeably grungy, that it can't be visually interesting - even if it makes sense in the given context. Yes ? ![]() |

And to kinetichaze: You're right about the exhaust. I think I know a better way to say it now: If your airplane is very clean (Your diffuse), you would expect much more reflection from light (Specular). The strange thing is that your texture has some dirt at the front, while the rest looks very clean. Why would the front be dirty while the wing tips and rear end stays clean? That's a strange contrast IMO. I changed the exhaust a bit to show you that if the front get's dirty, the back should get dirty as well. Quote:
I really like the model / texture. But I think that it could come out so much better if worked at it for another hour. I think the flat look of the texture cost you my vote this time. |

it was a very tough call but my vote goes out to ibrahim... i love the design rework and texture job. Xoliul damn good work, i once again the design rework looks great and your texture job is very clean and professional. it was basically a toss up between you two for me. next comp i will be less afraid of improving the designs just a little bit. you guys sure did a great job doing so. it was a fun comp and i look forward to the next one! best of luck to all during the voting phase.
